Magnesium carbonate and magnesium bicarbonate are compounds obtained from magnesium hydroxide, used by the food industry as acidity regulators, additive support, anti-caking agents and leavening agents.
They can be contained in various products, such as in baking powder.
At present there are no known negative side effects on human health.
At high concentrations they have a laxative effect.
